Southern Craftsmen was founded by Allen Putnam in 2001. He holds an unlimited North Carolina Builders License and the National Home Builders Green Builder Certification. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Cleveland County Home Builders Association. Allen is a native of Cleveland County and has spent most of his life in the community.
After earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Manufacturing Engineering he spent 20 years in Industry working for some of the leading companies. Most of that time was in the capacity of Plant/ Facility Engineer where his primary responsibility was project management handling construction projects and all types of equipment installations. In 2001 he left Curtiss Wright Flight Systems to start Southern Craftsmen.
